Snowshoe Summit

Your evening begins at the Adventure Centre, where our team outfits you with snowshoes and poles—making sure everything feels just right. As daylight softens, you’ll ride the last chairlift of the day to the top of Dickson Mountain.

The short scenic ascent reveals sweeping views of Calabogie Lake and the Ottawa Valley, a landscape shaped by forests, stone, and history.

At the summit, snowshoes go on – and the world quiets. The trek travels across open rock ridges, through mature forest and to scenic lookouts on the Skywalk Trail, one of Ontario’s premier hiking routes. Tucked among the pines, the Top Cabin welcomes guests to candlelit tables and the warmth of a wood burning fireplace. Fondue pots gently bubble awaiting the sumptuous dipping of bread, crispy fruits and vegetables. Complementing the fondu, a wine tasting unfolds, each pour telling its own quiet story.  This is an evening that blends adventure with intimacy, where the journey is as memorable as the meal, and the mountain feels entirely yours.

With appetites satisfied and spirts warmed its time to step back into the nights and begin the trek down the mountain. With headlamps glowing guides begin the decent with colourful stories of the Ottawa Valley, the history and legends of Dickson Mountain, and the early days and folklore that have shaped Calabogie Peaks.

The journey ends where good winter evenings should: around a glowing campfire, with sumptuous treats and good friends.
