Job Summary:

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment for all guests at Calabogie Peaks Hotel. This position plays a critical role in ensuring guest satisfaction by providing high standards of cleanliness in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and thrives in a fast-paced, upscale resort setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Room Maintenance:

  • Clean and prepare guest rooms, including changing linens, dusting, vacuuming, and restocking amenities according to hotel standards.
  • Inspect rooms for maintenance issues and report them promptly to the maintenance team.
  • Follow procedures for handling lost and found items.

Public Area Cleaning:

  • Maintain cleanliness of public spaces such as lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and recreational areas.
  • Ensure all high-touch surfaces are sanitized regularly to maintain health and safety
    standards.

Laundry Services:

  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens and towels as needed.
  • Monitor inventory levels of linens and cleaning supplies, reporting shortages to the Housekeeping Manager.

Safety and Compliance:

  •  Follow established health and safety guidelines, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Respond promptly to any guest inquiries or concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel and regulatory cleanliness standards, including eco-friendly initiatives.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with front desk and maintenance teams to ensure seamless communication and guest satisfaction.
  • Assist in training new housekeeping team members as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous housekeeping experience in a resort, hotel, or similar environment is an asset.
  • Familiarity with luxury or upscale resort standards (e.g., Marriott, Hilton, or similar) is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, pull, and push moderate to heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
