Ottawa Hotel Sales Executive Job Description

SUMMARY

A highly motivated, creative and energetic hotel sales representative responsible for growing new Revenue!
This is an Ottawa home office position, with periodic meetings and FAM tours at the Resort sit

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research market to identify business opportunities in the Corporate, Government & Associations sectors
  • Solicit business through personal sales calls, e-mails, relationships, attendance at industry gatherings
  • Accurately quote and successfully negotiate rates while adhering to the Resort’s rate structure and policies
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to increase revenue through sales strategies
  • Maintain market knowledge of competitors’ products, rates, positioning and policies
  • Prepare weekly sales reports and action plans
  • Attend weekly and quarterly meetings
  • Attend assigned trade shows and participate in property and corporate events as assigned

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Significant organizational skills and ability to handle detailed client requirements
  • Manage and use a CRM
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective telephone selling skills and ability to develop warm calls
  • Proven cold calling skills
  • Existing relationships with relevant Industry, Planner and Association contacts
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Results oriented
  • Effective teamwork skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Relationship management skills
  • Proven experience in establishing relationships with 3rd party meeting planners preferred
  • Bilingual with French is an advantage
  • A member of MPI and/or CSAE preferred
